This was the philosophical basis for forming the SAS KICKERS in 1985. To this day, we still adhere to this philosophy. While winning soccer games is a great feeling for players, parents, friends and coaches, winning soccer games is not the sole or most important function of our club. To place winning above everything else is to miss the reason for playing or coaching the game of soccer.

The SAS KICKERS’ coaching staff’s number one priority is to encourage our players to take advantage of their educational opportunity. We constantly remind our players that success at school can only be achieved by each individual putting in the time and effort to be able to say to oneself that the grade I received represents my best effort. For us, soccer is a tool to encourage and demonstrate to our players that success at soccer, like school, requires hard work. We place great emphasis on individual development within the framework of teamwork. Yes, we see soccer as a working model for life.

Having stated our philosophy and goals, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join our endeavor as a sponsor. This is your chance to make an investment in the most valuable asset we have, the young people of our community.

We rely on sponsors, such as you, to ensure that every young person who wants to play soccer, at a higher level, is given that opportunity, regardless of the economic status.

Every sponsor can take pride in the knowledge that by their help, no matter how great or small, they have had a hand in developing the character and athletic growth of a youth today. Our young athletes from Simi Valley, who have played competitive soccer, have gone on to earn college scholarships, National Championships, and yes, played in the Olympics. For many of these youngsters their dreams would not have come true, if it had not been for people like you who care enough to help.

This year, a player’s registration fee is $425.00. In addition, teams will enter 4-6 tournaments a year, each costing a player an average of $35 for each tournament. We realize that many worthy endeavors are constantly requesting financial aid from many individuals, groups and businesses.
